Rock 10

Wax Rocks are an ongoing series of recycled candle wax cast fake rocks. I have been interested in plastic iterations of natural objects, particularly fake rocks used around the home to conceal and protect objects ranging from spare keys to generators.

Each of these fake rocks was cast in an effort to test the color of a recycled wax mixture. They are ephemera from my larger sculptural practice. Some have been demolded while still very warm, allowing for the wax to shift and (mis)shape. Others have had a small object placed on top of the wax rock to accentuate an indentation or smoosh it.

Each rock is unique. Each rock is approximately 3 ½: x 3 x 1 ¼ in.

Your rock can be used as a paper weight, worry stone, garden ornament, pet, or whatever!

Please note that over time wax often emits a slightly oily stain, please beware of setting directly on paper or wood.
